PE and Sport

Children take part in a wide range of sporting activities, both within school and the wider community.

Article 15: Every child has the right to meet with other children.

Article 24: Every child has the right to the best possible health.

Article 29: education must develop a child’s personality, talents and abilities to the full.

Children take part in two hours of physical education each week. This consists of gymnastics, dance or outdoor games. As part of the Year 5 PE curriculum, children attend swimming lessons each week. The children take part in a sports day event during the summer term each year. Children from across the school also regularly take part in sporting activities and tournaments organised off site. Some of these events take place at community sports grounds and others are hosted by Lord Lawson of Beamish Academy.  We have qualified coaches who come into school to deliver PE sessions.
